Sightings

Hi Guys.

Today's sightings are a bit different as I just could not get close to almost all of the trains! Due to access to yard areas and rain!

The first shots are at Gunhill, mielies departing South, the yard shunt having a rest and 18E's on a train load of Caustic soda heading to Bethlehem and beyond.

The pipeline markers have all been re-painted.

The station building is Makwassie.

Then Welkom station, mielies leaving for Kroonstad, RRL's locos and the Friedesheim timber shunt at the old goods shed in Welkom.

Cheers.

Sightings

Hi Guys.

RRL is hiring TFR's 35 class again, here she is heading through Friedesheim with empty hoppers bound for old Freddie's 1 shaft at Odendaalsrus.

The Wesselsbron pick-up had just finished shunting at the silos and was returning to the station.

Then 2x Northbound loads of CAR wagons. The first load near Makwassie and the second near Kingswood.

Greetings from all the crews.

Cheers.

Sightings

Hi Guys.

The 2x ex Queensland diesels were coming back from the exchange yard near the old showground's. Here they are passing us at "Niemandsland" en-route to Welkom station. No idea why they are "double heading". Maybe a once in a lifetime shot!

Then one of Sheltam's 31 classes passed us on her way to 4 and 5 shaft.

At Hennenman we got a Kroonstad bound fuel train returning empty, within minutes the South bound car train sped past.

Seems like the "new" running times for goods trains on the Free State main line are proving much better to get trains! Normally these working were early mornings of late evenings. Even worse when running late, sometimes so late that we actually got them during daylight hours!

Cheers.
