Boskuil & Makwassie.

Sightings.

Hi guys.

Today our timing was perfect. On arrival at Whites we were informed that a
train was coming in from the branch - blue 34 406. Also that another train
was coming. This turned out to be maroon 34 067 on the Welgelee and Virginia
- Glen harmony pick-up. Later we got one of Sheltam's 31's heading towards
the gold plant near Harmony.

Cheers.

More Wesselsbron.

Senwes Wesselsbron.

Hi guys.

We found this loco at the silos today, all nicely re-sprayed and fixed up.
For quite a long time she was standing out of use with the engine removed.
She looks quite good in the new livery.

Cheers.

Wesselsbron

Hi guys.

Firstly we got 34 028 bringing empties to Wesselsbron silos. She left later
light loco to Kroonstad.

Then 34 499 returned from Tierfontein, there is no tri-angle at Tierfontein
to turn the loco around.

What is of interest is the new "Sy-skyf" branded Transnet. I have NO idea
what a sy-skyf is in English. I know years back when the trains ran without
guards they were black with a white circle on them - then they were called
"ore" - ears.

Cheers.

Potchefstroom

Time to catch up on the news from the Wepeners.

Malmesbury train and football

My two loves, trains and football. These are truly atmospheric pictures from Les Kenward. Note how the spectators are watching the train. It does sadden me when I see the poor infrastructure the kids play league football with. Especially when SAFA made mega millions from the FIFA world cup. Can the Cape government not supply some decent goals and basic facilities.
