Weed spraying - SWC

Sebenza Weed Chem

Hi guys.

We got this train today returning from Bothaville, the first photos are at Ancona/Rooiblom. The last are close to Allanridge. These weed killer trains travel at 30Km/h whilst spraying. SWC stands for Sebenza Weed Chem. It is the first time this company is in our area, normally it is Agricura and the train is green not dark blue as here.

Hi guys.

Got the car train heading towards Kroonstad this afternoon, for once basically right time. The photo is just past the Sand river bridge. The other pic is at old Erfdeel 4 shaft, Sheltam's 31 class heading towards the exchange yards with Harmony Surface Rail, on a load of ore from 5 shaft.

Overhead occupation today between Grasslands and Bloemhof.

Hi guys.

There was a total overhead occupation today between Grasslands and Bloemhof. This was for maintenance purposes. Because of this no trains ran for the entire morning, causing them to "bottle neck" before and after Bloemhof. When the line was opened again there was a rush of trains heading north and south, quite enjoyable! I couldn't photograph them all unfortunately but we managed nine trains in just over an hour, not bad at all.

Today, between Makwassie and Boskuil

Hi

Today, between Makwassie and Boskuil, we managed to get 3 trains within 15
minutes of each other. A southbound load of CALJ trucks, this train was
looped to cross a northbound load of rails. After the rail bolsters had
passed she was still kept back for a load of ore behind the 10E's.

Hi Guys.

Got the Economy Trans Karoo at Bloemhof this morning, also late... Then it was a northbound load of containers which we followed all the way to Regina. A light unit headed south through Boskuil and a load of ore was looped near Kingswood for a crossing with the containers.

Hi Guys.

Got the Northbound Tourist Trans Karoo just South of Bloemhof, running late again.

The other two trains are just North of Bloemhof, heading South. Hoots from all the crews.

Hi guys.

Got three trains at Friedesheim today within 20 minutes. The timber shunt at Mondi, the Wesselsbron pick-up and RRL returning from Freddie's 5 shaft.

Sightings.

Hi guys.

We got orange 34 028 at Erfdeel, returning light from Wesselsbron. Later we got blue 34 406 at Ancona returning from Bothaville. This load was one FZ (as a runner) and one fuel tanker. Traffic is down. In 24 hours less than 10 trains operate form Kroonstad - branches and mainline...

Sheltam's 31 is near their depot in Saaiplaas.
